Thousands of children hunt for eggs with their family.

Make plans to herd up the kids, grab some baskets and hop on down to the WSCA Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn of the Saginaw County Courthouse, Saturday, April 7th at 12 noon, sharp!

Children ages 0 through 9 are invited to participate, and will be set loose to find their share of 20,000 plastic eggs stuffed with candy.

It’s no exaggeration to expect 4,000 people at this event!

The event also features over a dozen of the Saginaw Bunny Sculptures on display amongst the Easter Eggs.

To Attend the Easter Egg Hunt….

This event is for children ages 0 – 9, which are divided into three age groups, each with their own sectioned area for egg hunting:

Ages 0-3 meet at Borchard Park, across the street (Court Street) from the Courthouse.

Ages 4 – 6 and 7 – 9 will each hunt in their own section on the Courthouse lawn.

Please note: Though the start times for each age group will be staggered, EVERYONE must be in place and ready to go at 12 noon.
Ages 0-3 year olds will begin first, right at noon. A few minutes later the 4-6 age group will start their hunt, followed a few minutes after that by the 7-9 year olds.

Parking will be available along streets and public parking areas in Old Town and the surrounding neighborhoods.  Thousands participate in this event each year, so be sure to arrive early for the best parking possible.

To Volunteer for the Easter Egg Hunt…

So, just who stuffs all those thousands of eggs with candy?  Volunteers, of course.  If you or a group you know are interested in helping the WSCA prepare for this great event, here’s how you can be involved:

Tuesday, March 27, 4 – 6 p.m. Egg Stuffing at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 123 N. Michigan Ave.

Tuesday, April 3, 4 – 6 p.m. Egg Stuffing at St. John’s Episcopal Church

Saturday, April 7: WSCA Annual Easter Egg Hunt!! Meet at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 10 a.m. to help place the eggs throughout the “hunting grounds”.

The event itself begins at 12 noon.  It’s a 20 minute blur of kids, candy, a little bit of crowd direction, and then we clean up, which takes until 1:00 or 1:30 p.m. to complete.

Jake's Old City Grill

As a reminder, we have our August General Meeting at this Wednesday, August 10th, at 5:30pm. We will be meeting at Jake’s Old City Grill where we will hear from guest speakers from the city, updates on our camera surveillance, and much more. Get yourself to Old Town and buy some tickets for the Rum Rush this Thursday (July 21)! This is a fun, safe, adult event hosted by the bar owners in Old Town. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 on the day and can be purchased at any participating pub. Your ticket includes collectible glassware, rum cocktail and a sample appetizer at each location. Bring your friends and show’em the hidden treasure of Old Town!

People come from all over the state to check out the bikes and cars.

This FREE-to-the-public family event showcases a collection of several hundred antique, classic, sports and hot-rod automobiles, customized trucks, motorbikes and unique motorized vehicles from within the Great Lakes Bay Region and throughout the State of Michigan. Cash prizes will be awarded for best of Show, Best Paint, Best Interior and Best Engine categories as well as more cash drawings to the registered show car entrants. A 50-50 drawing, door prizes and other fun displays are planned for the public. Coney dogs and gourmet scrambled hamburgers will be available at a food booth along with beverages for the show.
